DARK SUMMER UP FOR EAST SUSSEX AWARD
Just when Ali thought she was never going to get past Brighton, Dark Summer has got on to the shortlist for the East Sussex Children’s Book Award.
'I've been visiting tonnes of schools in the western end of the county,' says Ali, 'after Frozen In Time was shortlisted for the West Sussex Children’s Book Award. I really love this part of the world and enjoy driving east across the Hampshire border so often for WSCBA events. It feels like home from home.
'But I was wondering what the really easterly part was like and it looks like I will get to find out now as I have been invited to visit schools for the ESCBA in coming months. I’m really looking forward to it and so delighted that Dark Summer has got this recognition. It’s a book I’m very fond of.'
